Update to WMU Alerts and Advisories on Sept. 10, 2019

A one-time system update was completed with these important changes for WMU students and employees:

    • Students and employees who prefer to only get WMU Alerts must login to the goWMU portal and opt-out of Advisory Notifications.
    • This will not affect visitors and others who signed up for WMU Alerts and Advisories via the SMS-Opt-In feature.
  • The WMU Alert Settings page, within the goWMU portal, was redesigned and improved.
    • Users are now able to view and edit their alert settings from a single page.

Other recent improvements to WMU Alerts and Advisories and other safety options:

  • WMU students and employees may also download and install the Rave Guardian smartphone app.
  • The University community will start seeing WMU Alerts and Advisories on University Cisco VoIP telephone screens.

Other Notification Improvements Coming Soon!

The University is examining options to push emergency notifications to digital signage on campus.
